Mission Statement
House of Help Hempstead is a total volunteer run, no paid staff, non-profit 501 ©(3) organization, form to help those with current or ongoing needs, a crisis situation or a local disaster. Our Moto: “A Hand UP, not a hand out”
We open our doors November 2012 as a Community Food Pantry; a partner of the Houston Food Bank. We provide food, special dietary needs, hygiene, baby and adult needs. As we have grown, we have added other programs of assistance thru a Medical Grant for meds, doctor visits, glasses, dentist and funds for transportation to out of town doctors and hospitals. Proceeds from our Thrift Shop and monetary donations, when available, let us help with gas for work, utilities and rent assistance. At Christmas, we offer “Toys For Tots” to assist parents in providing a Christmas for their children. We work with our school district, local churches, probation dept. and other non-profits and agencies to meet the needs of our community. I cannot put all the ways we assist in a paragraph. “We maybe little but we are Mighty!
