Starting Friday, Nov. 1st, House of Help NEW WINTER HOURS, Tuesday through Saturday 10am-3pm.
HOH has been awarded a MEDICAL GRANT by the Tomball Coalition making it possible for us to assist with medicine, doctor visits and other medical needs. You will need to go talk to Ms. Sid at the House of Help.
Saturday, November 2nd OR Tuesday November 5th, Client choice of which days you can come, is FOOD PANTRY give-out days if your last name begins with A-M, 10AM-2:30PM.
HOUSTON FOOD BANK PRODUCE TRUCK 10AM-NOON Friday November 15th, is FREE and open to anyone in the Community. Remember to bring your bags and boxes to put your items in.
Saturday, November 16th OR Tuesday November 19th, again Client choice of which days they can come, is FOOD PANTRY give-out days if your last name begins with N-Z, 10AM-2:30PM.
HEALTH NEWS: CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics will be at HOH Friday, November 1st, 9:30am-12:30pm offering FREE Screenings, Blood Pressure Check, Glucose Testing, and Cholesterol, Fasting is Preferred for Screenings. FREE Flu Shots will also be offered for Adults and Children. CHEQUEOS DE Salud GRATIS. Tambien se ofreeceran Vacunas Anti-Gripales GRATIS para Adultos & Ninos.
Once again, HOH has been Blessed by the HEMPSTEAD KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS organization. They have purchased Coats for Kids for HOH to give out to children that live within the Hempstead School District boundaries. Coats will be given out first come first serve on Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th, from 10am-2pm at the Hempstead Theatre, 740 – 12th Street. Children MUST be present and accompanied by Parent or Legal Guardian to try on the coats as sizes vary.
Applications for Children living within the Hempstead ISD School boundaries for “Toys For Tots” will be at the House of Help Hempstead, 716 – 1st Street, (corner of 1st Street and FM 1488), from 10am – 3pm on Friday, November 22nd, and Saturday, November 23rd. Children must live with their Parents or Legal Guardian full time. Parents will need a Report Card, Shot Record or Birth Certificate for their children. Proof of residence such as an electric bill or lease and income, plus Adult ID is required. Questions call the House of Help 979-826-4445.
The Houston Food Bank will be at House of Help on December 5th, 8am – 10am for SENIOR BOX GIVE-OUT for those 60 or older. All senior applicants are subjected to verify their age, residence, and house hold income. Can’t make it to the distribution? Have your family/friend pick it up for you! Write a letter of permission and include the name of the person picking up for you, include the time frame for pick-up (just today or always). Sign and date the letter; then send form of your ID (Copy/picture of your ID or your apple/food bank card). Designated person must bring their ID for verification.
CAN’T GET TO THE HOUSE OF HELP TO PICK UP YOUR GROCERIES BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE A RIDE? WE CAN FIX THAT! The House of Help has made arrangements with the Colorado Valley Transit for Clients to call them 979-732-6281 and make arrangements for them to pick you up and bring you to the House of Help on Tuesdays, Bus does not run on Saturdays. The Bus will pick you up and return you home when you are finished with your business. Seniors ride FREE; otherwise House of Help will pay for your ride when you get to the House of Help.
